This is the story of a boy, a story that could be anyone's. He is one of the boys who represented Romania at the Rugby Tag tournament held in Italy this year. Most of the students at the Tărian Middle School know him.
Let us introduce you to an ambitious child who already knows what he wants in life and is determined to fight any obstacle that stands in his way.
Although he comes from a family with many children, this did not stop him from wanting a better future, one in which he earns money through honest work, is appreciated for what he does, and even sets a good example for others.
At home he was used to helping as much as he could, from an early age. He did not have everything he wanted, but he learned to be grateful for what he was given.
At school he was enrolled in the Project from the first grade and, as he himself admits, he was a student with a rebellious spirit who did not like to listen.
The rules at school and at home, attending the project meetings, and growing more mature helped him understand that we cannot just be any way we like, that we cannot do whatever we want. He learned to control his emotions and to behave respectfully, he developed his self-esteem and even managed to form a plan for his life.
Among other things, he stood out through very good results in sports activities, and his competitive and ambitious spirit helped him a great deal.
This year his team, excellently coached by teacher Delia Bondar, placed 4th at the national Rugby Tag stage.
An even bigger challenge was taking part in the International Rugby Tournament in Italy on 7-8 May 2022. It was the largest rugby tournament in Europe, where over 1,000 children from 38 European clubs, from 7 participating countries, played.
This participation was made possible with the help of ASA Association, the Girișu de Criș Town Hall, and Middle School No. 1 Tărian. Bogdan talks with great excitement about his experience in Italy, far from home, in a foreign country, together with Robert and Delia Bondar.
They placed 5th, and we congratulate them for all their hard work and the result they achieved!
Besides sports, Bogdan likes cars, and his dream in life is to work with cars, get his driver's license and have his own auto repair shop.
He is now enrolled in a vocational school and is determined to do everything in his power to make his dream come true.
Bogdan's participation in the ASA Association After-School project, carried out in collaboration with our partners Dorcas Aid România, the Betania Christian Center and the Girișu de Criș Town Hall, was significant thanks to the educational support, the social activities, the trips, the camps, and the psychological as well as material support.
Relationships were built that last; time and resources were invested, with corrective conversations as well as rewards.
