We love children and want to be by their side whenever they need us. Our hands are not big enough to embrace everyone in need, but they can work wonders when they join together. For several years now we have been involved, through a social inclusion project, in the Roma community of Cheresig (Bihor County). We dedicate our time and resources to helping develop a new generation of adults, believing that every good seed planted in the lives of children and teenagers will bear fruit in due time.
Right now we have 45 children from grades 1-8 who take part in weekly meetings where they have the chance to grow both personally and educationally.
Every meeting is special. Besides lessons about life, hygiene and good behavior, our young people have the chance to get involved in various non-formal educational activities.
They learn what it means to save money and how a responsible citizen should behave. We implement the Afltoun curriculum and we work hard to make every learning concept as engaging as possible. Special holiday days are events where their creativity is given free rein. Who knows, new talents may be born among them!
On sunny days with good weather we go outdoors and organize small trips, and these activities are the ones all the children look forward to most.
Also on the list of favorite activities is the Summer Camp. Every year we spend a few days with our young people away from the city, in the mountains, and we recharge by organizing lots of games and educational lessons.
We do not forget their parents either! We make sure to involve them in activities that contribute to their growth and motivate them to raise their children in a healthy way.
We make visits in the community and try to get as close as possible to the people who are part of the project and have chosen to improve their lives through education.
