A beautiful collaboration for us, and especially for the women in our projects who are directly involved, is the project Păpuși și Povești Românești (Romanian Dolls and Stories).
A lovely educational initiative aimed at Romanian children, especially girls, which aims to give them the chance to identify with positive, moral characters while learning about Romania's past.
Every child who gets the chance to read this book will set off on a historical journey full of adventure, charm and fantasy.
The main character, Aelia, lives in the time of King Decebalus, when the Dacian-Roman wars took place. Despite the troubled times, the little girl enjoys life with her family and friends, showing courage and kindness.
King Decebalus devises an unusual strategy to stop the Romans' advance toward the capital Sarmizegetusa, and the inhabitants of the Costinești Fortress lend a hand, waiting anxiously for the outcome.
Will the Dacians' trick be enough to save Sarmizegetusa?
You will surely find out if you read this book!
Throughout the journey, the little ones will not be alone, because Aelia can accompany them to the very end. The doll can accompany the book, and her existence has a special story. Her little clothes and slippers are made within our projects, by women who are in difficult situations.
The Păpuși și Povești Românești project has a social component, which is a way of supporting and standing by the women who create Aelia's clothing and accessories.
Now, let us introduce you to Aelia, the Dacian doll who will accompany the little ones throughout the book.
In an era when young children are increasingly drawn to technology to spend their free time, we want to offer a healthy alternative that encourages children to play and read, thus developing their creativity.
The Aelia doll is high quality, made of non-toxic materials, so that children have the opportunity to play safely.
The clothes and accessories are handmade, which adds extra quality. Every time a doll arrives in your home, besides the joy it brings to a child, you help a mother support her children and give them the chance of a job.
The women who create these little wonders are part of the inclusion and skills development project carried out together with Dorcas Aid Romania, the Girișu de Criș Town Hall and the Betania Christian Center.
If you would like to keep up with everything that happens in the Păpuși și Povești Românești project, we invite you to follow their page on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.
